I thought I’d share some piccies of the so-called “Premier Classe” hotel room I had. It was small, and wouldn’t be out of place in one of HM Prisons.
Here are two shots from the ends of one wall, the first the view inward from the door and the second the view back towards the window:
Next is the bedlinen. As you can see, one sheet and a thin counterpane; not even a duvet.
Then the pokey little “bathroom”:
Lastly, a close-up of the bathroom door catch. The tongue of the catch is completely missing which means, of course, that the door could not be closed. You can also get an idea of the standard of finish in the room – this sample was typical.
This puts Premiere Classe on a lifetime ban, as far as I’m concerned. It’s either B&B or ibis Budget from now on. Of the two, B&B probably wins by having a lift in the building, though I suppose if you specify a ground-floor room when booking the two remain neck-and-neck.
